INFORMATION BULLETIN NO.2

We have received tremendous response from near and far for this festival.  We are having around 40 teams participating from Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, China, Philippines, Iran; and not forgetting Malaysia.

Please take note that the information in this bulletin shall supersede the earlier bulletin.

Competition Regulation and Racing Rules

The Penang Pesta Dragon Boat Race 2015 will comply with the PIDBF Competition Regulations and if any rules not spelt out, it will be determined by the IDBF Competition Regulations & Rules of Racing.  Meanwhile, please refer to PIDBF Competition Regulations & Rules of Racing and PIDBF Safety & Training Notes.

Prizes

Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners, while 4th to 9th placing in some events will receive trophies and plaques.

Souvenirs

Every participating team will receive a souvenir for remembrance at the Opening Ceremony.   All teams are invited to the Opening Ceremony on the 12th December morning.

The above program is provisional and is provided to assist crews with their initial planning.  This program is subject to changes.

Registration

Crew Manager must register and submit all the relevant documents at the Secretariat at the Golden Sands Resort on 11th December 2015 (Friday) during the operating hours specified above.

Crew Practice Session

Practice session has been allocated for all crews on 11th December 2015 (Friday).  Please submit the Crew Practice Booking Form & Crew Name List by 15th November 2015 to book the time slot.

Crew Photo List

Please submit the Crew Photo List during registration at the Secretariat on 11th December. Only Crew Photo List with colored passport or ID photo will be accepted.

For your information, we do not accept Crew Photo List sent through email or submission during Race days.  We also do not have printing facility for the Crew Photo List during registration.  Please ensure that you have everything ready for submission and submit a separate copy of Crew Photo List for different events.

Crew Profile

Crews are encouraged to furnish a soft copy of the crew group photograph and a brief introduction. It will be published in our official face book page and other promotional materials.

Crew Manager’s Meeting

Admission: Crew Manager & Crew Captain only from each crew

Attendance is compulsory. Please submit the names in the Crew Managers’ Meeting Confirmation form.

Race Day Lunches

A variety of food is available for sale at the Competition Site at very reasonable price.

Motor Vehicle Parking Facilities

Designated parking facilities for motor vehicles are allocated near to the Boat House.  Vehicles (including motorbikes) are NOT allowed to park at the athletes’ tents compound.

No Smoking Zone

The Competition Site at Teluk Bahang Dam has been designated as a No Smoking Zone by the authority.

Celebration Dinner

Celebration Dinner will be held on the evening of 13th December 2015.  It is open to all the competitors, crew managers and supporters.  There will be good food, songs, dance performances and interesting presentations throughout the party.  Seats are limited; please get your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
