Today (23rd May) we concluded the Penang and Malaysia Open Championships. 6 teams are now qualified to race at the International events tomorrow (24th May 2009).

Date: 24th May 09 (Sunday). Time: 8pm. Location: Teluk Bahang Dam. 
This Sunday, 24th May, come on over to the Teluk Bahang Dam to witness and be a part of the celebration! The Penang International Dragon Boat Festival will be holding a Celebration Dinner specially for the participating PIDBF teams where teams from across Malaysia and overseas get-together in celebration after the two day PIDBF races at the dam.
The Celebration Dinner is open to public, so come on over and make merry with the rest of the teams! Plenty of food and entertainment will be available round the clock till midnight, concluding the day with a perfect relaxing Sunday night out with family and friends. There will be multiple cultural dances, an exploding belly dance performance, hip-hop performances as well as traditional performances from the respective foreign participants and lastly, dance and swing to the musical band under the glittering stars of the night's sky. So come on over and be merry with plenty of joy and laughter! The PIDBF Celebration Dinner begins 8pm onwards. Admission and parking at the Teluk Bahang Dam is free.

1. International Technical Forum. Please register early for this special forum. 2. Practice Session
Practices are meant for overseas teams and Malaysian teams only.
3. Paddle Check
Competitors may use his/her own paddles which are approved by IDBF in accordance with IDBF Standard. Paddles may have to pass through a check against the Racing Paddle Specification Template. Organiser shall provide the wooden paddles upon request.
Those who do not have their own paddles may rent the carbon fibred paddles from the Organiser and pay a deposit of RM300/US$100 for each paddle. Team managers are required to complete the form in duplicate and submit the full payment to the treasurer by 22nd May 2009. Please fill in this rental form. 4. Overseas Team Manager’s Dinner
Only 1 team manager from each overseas team is invited for the dinner.
5. Team Manager’s Meeting
Team Manager’s meeting is compulsory for all team manager (local and overseas).
6. Race Program
Race program for 23rd & 24th May 2009 .
7. Opening Ceremony
All crews from local and overseas teams are invited to attend this grand ceremony. Please assemble in front of the stage before 1100 hours at the regatta site.
8. Prize Presentation
Prize presentation will be held on 24th May 2009 after the last race around 1800 hours. A reminder to prize winners, to assemble in front of the stage after the last race.
9. Celebration Dinner
Celebration dinner is open to all crews. Food coupons will be sold for those attending. Further details can be obtained from the website. Food coupons are available for purchase at RM20 per booklet from19th May 2009 onwards. Call Peggy (+6016-4483833) or Dick (+6012-4700448).
